Below are some tips on how to deal with different types of skin or skin care transitional symptoms when you use your skin care products:

Skin Care Transitional Symptoms
You will feel temporary skin discomfort after using the skin care products.  Normally, it is caused by contact with new range of skin care products or change of skin care routine.  Usually, it will subside within a week time.

Symptoms of skin care transitional symptoms:

  • Rashes
  • Small pimples

Beauty tips:

  • If you are a new user for a range of skin care products, conduct a patch test on the forearm to check for signs of allergy.  Apply one product at a time on the forearm, and repeat this procedure consecutively for a week.  You can check for signs of allergy by this action.  If you find that nothing happens after a week time, then it is alright for you to use the skin care products.
  • Minimize the quantity used for each product, and this works all the time.
  • Add in new product gradually into your current skin care products range.

Allergic skin

Allergic skin has hypersensitivity reactions for new range of skin care products.  These are the reactions of the immune system in which normal body tissue is injured.  This is an allergic reaction involving antibodies of immunoglobulin E(lgE), which happens when antibodies encountering antigens (allergens).

Symptoms of allergic skin:

  • Watery eye and itches
  • Flushing
  • Tingling sensations
  • Hives
  • Continuous sneezing

Beauty tips:

  • Immediately wash off the contact area with water and a mild cleanser.
  • The best treatment is to avoid contact with the allergens.  In this case, it would be best if you know which ingredients in the skin care products that cause the skin reactions.  If you know the cleanser contains those ingredients that cause allergic reactions, avoid the cleanser and you can keep on using the other skin care products already bought.
  • Clinical care such as allergen immunotherapy (allergic injections) may be provided as an alternative solution.

Sensitive Skin
This is a superficial disorder on the skin surface, causing temporary skin discomfort after using the skin care products.

Symptoms of sensitive skin:

  • The veins appear visible
  • Skin easily turns red in abrupt change of temperature
  • Rashes

Beauty tips:

  • Get skin care products that can keep your skin moist and hydrated
  • Avoid contact with harsh alcohol
  • Maintain a balanced skin PH, which is normally at the range of 5 to 6.

Always go for a patch test on the forearm to check for signs of allergy if you know you are sensitive or allergic towards any ingredients in skin care products.  However, if you have normal skin and have skin care transitional symptoms, it is alright and you are no need to put aside those skin care products bought.
