Do you have acne scars on your face but using an acne scars procedure, like laser treatments and chemical peels, is something that scares you or that you cannot afford? The answer may be available in your refrigerator or cabinets. Using some house hold objects and little bit of creativity could help reduce the appearance acne scars significantly. They may not erase them completely, but it will be a definite improvement.

So what are these acne scar home remedies that we all can use?

Well for starters, there are lemons. Lemons, due to their acidic nature, can help with reducing the appearance of acne scars. This is especially true for acne scars that are of a deeper reddish color. Although lemons do not cure the acne scar, it is still there, they make their appearance lighter so that others may not be able to see them as well. It is said to take a cotton ball, dab some lemon juice on the cotton ball and apply to your acne scars. Eventually, after a couple of times, the redness will go away. The only concerning issue is that lemons and lemon juice will make your face more susceptible to sun burn and damage due to the fact that lemons will make the skin photosensitive. So use sun screen as well.

Olives are another home remedy for acne scars. First, you will need to use baking soda and water to exfoliate the skin and allow for the dead skin to be erased. After your exfoliating treatment, then it is time to apply a pea sized amount olive oil to your skin. The reason for olive oil is due to the fact that Olive oil contains elements and nutrients that can moisturize your skin very well. When acne scars develop, your skin looses the elasticity (this is the bounce back quality that allows the skin to heal itself) it needs.  To help your skin gain more of the elastic quality it needs, moisturizing ingredients are needed. Since Olive oil contains moisturizing elements, it can be a big relief for an acne scars sufferer. A little word of warning, do not use too much olive oil for it could severely increase your chances of another acne breakout do to the fact that olive oil can potentially clog your pores. So use as directed, just a small pea sized amount to add that little moisture that your face needs.

Water is another good cure for any type of skin aliment due to the fact that water consumption is one of the most important issues regarding healthy skin. We all need water in our system to operate at full capacity. So when it comes to acne scars, giving your body extra fuel to treat them will go a long way. You may not see the results as quickly as with olive oil and lemons, but there will be a difference.

In the long run, to truly heal acne scars you will probably going to need specific ingredients meant for acne scars. These home remedies will help with appearances but they will not heal the skin. So to find the best acne scars treatment, you will have to do some research into products that are meant for your condition. Also, another very important remedy for any skin condition is consistency and patience. These two especially will be major factors in the return to a scar free existence. So the decision is ultimately up to you as to what you believe the best option for acne scar removal is. Home remedies or actual scientifically put together products and procedures, chose wisely.
